French Foreign Minister Bernard Kouchner arrived on Friday in Chad on the second leg of an African tour aimed at reviewing prospects for aiding victims of the Darfur conflict in neighbouring Sudan. The minister was to travel on Saturday to eastern Chad to visit camps packed with about 250,000 refugees from Darfur as well as 150,000 displaced Chadians. On Sunday, he will see Chadian President Idriss Deby Itno in the capital N’Djamena and meet some of the 1,000 French troops stationed in Chad.
