A Basque separatist rebel convicted in 25 deaths was returned prison Wednesday, after recuperating in a hospital from a hunger strike, officials said. The move came a day after the Basque ETA group announced an end to a 15-month cease-fire, Spanish authorities said. The possibility had been raised that Jose Ignacio de Juana Chaos could go home to serve out the rest of his prison term under police surveillance, but Interior Minister Alfredo Perez Rubalcaba said in a radio interview that with the cease-fire over, that was out of the question.
