A Canadian man accused of making hoax calls to police claiming there was a terrorist onboard an Air India flight was sentenced to three years and eight months in prison by a Singapore court Monday. Nanda Sudhir Kumar, 53, was convicted of three counts of “communicating false threats of terrorism acts,” an offense under a set of laws the city-state adopted after the Sept. 11, 2001, terror attacks in the United States.
