A letter warning about ‘massive terrorist attacks in Chennai’ was handed over to the city police commissioner Letika Saran by the Tamil Nadu BJP President L Ganesan on Saturday. The anonymous letter was received at the BJP head quarters ‘Kamalalyam’ here on Friday, Ganesan told reporters. Ganesan said that the person who sent the letter, claiming to be a member of a ‘save city group’, had said in the letter that the globally banned terrorist outfit al-Qaeda was planning to attack major buildings and other vital installations in the city, including Kamalalayam.
