Serbia’s parliament approved late Tuesday a fractious coalition government that will seek to join the European Union while at the same time preventing Kosovo’s independence. Just minutes before a midnight (2200 GMT) deadline, 133 of 244 deputies present at the session voted for the new cabinet led by prime minister Vojislav Kostunica, while 106 MPs voted against.
