Four Muslim militants were killed in a firefight with Philippine troops on Tuesday on the violence-plagued southern island of Jolo, the military said. Army troops and Marines encountered a group of armed militants from the Moro National Liberation Front (MNLF) while on routine patrol on Jolo’s east coast, the regional military headquarters said. The firefight was ongoing near the town of Kalingalan Calauang, the military said, putting the number of MNLF fighters involved at about 200. Full Story
