Turkey’s Gul says to pull from race if vote fails

Foreign Minister Abdullah Gul, the controversial candidate for the Turkish presidency, said on Sunday he would withdraw from the parliamentary election for head of state if he failed to secure quorum in parliament. “If we don’t get 367, I will withdraw,” Gul told reporters in parliament ahead of a rerun of the first round of voting for the election of the president.
