Israel’s state auditor on Sunday asked the attorney general to take over a probe into Prime Minister Ehud Olmert’s purchase of a house on suspicion that he bought it for significantly less than its market value. State Comptroller Micha Lindenstrauss said in a statement issued by his office that he had asked Attorney-General Menachem Mazuz to take charge of the probe because he said Olmert and others had failed to cooperate with his investigation.
