Military clash with rebels in Central African Republic

At least one government soldier was killed in fighting with rebels in the Central African Republic, only days after the signing of a peace deal with a major insurgent group, a military source said Friday. The source said the soldier died when rebels of the People’s Army for the Restoration of the Republic and Democracy (APRD) attacked a military convoy at Bang, 500 kilometres (300 miles) northwest of the capital, on April 17.
