The Nigerian army has routed Muslim militants who killed 13 police earlier this week in the northern city of Kano, authorities said on Friday. The army, which fought a day-long battle against the militants on Wednesday in the Panshekara district of Kano, had said earlier the Islamic radicals might counter-attack after melting into the bush.
