Police in Zimbabwe ordered organizers of a prayer meeting to withdraw opposition leaders and “political speakers” from the program Saturday before they would let the meeting go ahead, the organizers said. The organizers, the Save Zimbabwe Campaign, an alliance of Christian and pro-democracy groups, initially agreed to the demand but were negotiating with police through lawyers over the order, said Useni Sibanda, an official of the alliance in the second city of Bulawayo.
