At least 80,000 secularist Turks, many waving Turkish flags and chanting anti-Islamist slogans, marched through the capital on Saturday to warn the Islamic-rooted prime minister against running for president in May. Turkey’s secularists fear that if Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan — or someone close to him — wins the presidency next month, the government will be able to implement an Islamic agenda without opposition.
