An earthquake with a preliminary magnitude of 7.8 occurred in the South Pacific Ocean on Monday, public broadcaster NHK said. The quake was located to the north of Australia. Japan’s Meteorolical Agency was checking whether there was a tsunami threat to Japan from the tremor, NHK said. Full Story
