A car bomb exploded in a crowded market in a mainly Shi’ite neighbourhood of northern Baghdad on Sunday, killing three people and wounding seven, police said. U.S. commanders have warned that while the number of murders and executions have fallen sharply in Baghdad since a U.S.-backed security crackdown was launched on Feb. 14, car bombs by suspected Sunni Arab insurgents remain a serious concern.
