The West’s failure to compensate Libya for abandoning its nuclear weapons programme is unlikely to prompt Iran and North Korea to do likewise, Libya’s leader Moamer Kadhafi has told the BBC. “Libya has not been properly compensated, so other countries, like Iran and North Korea, will not follow his lead,” Kadhafi said in an interview published on the broadcaster’s website. “This should be a model to be followed, but Libya is disappointed because the promises given by America and Britain were not fulfilled… That destroyed the model… no-one is going to follow that model as a result.” Full Story
