The federal government may be poised to list Denver among a select few regions that the Department of Homeland Security considers at “high risk” for a terror attack. U.S. House Majority Leader Steny Hoyer joined Colorado Democratic Representative Ed Perlmutter Friday to meet with officials from state and local public safety agencies and discuss Homeland Security grants. Hoyer said with the addition of the Democratic National Convention in 2008, Denver is likely to find itself listed as a terror risk site, and that could mean more federal grant money for security.
