The International Monetary Fund on Friday maintained its suspension of financial and technical assistance to Zimbabwe for failing to clear its arrears and address worsening economic and social conditions. The IMF also kept the Southern African country’s voting rights suspended until it clears its arrears of $129 million to the fund. “The board expressed deep concern over the deteriorating economic and social conditions and regretted that the authorities have not undertaken the policies recommended by the IMF,” the fund said in a statement.
