At least three Greek policemen were injured in clashes with demonstrators in Athens on Thursday as some 7,000 students and teachers marched in protest against government plans to reform the troubled education system. Protesters armed with sticks and petrol bombs burned garbage bins and ripped up paving slabs in front of parliament as they fought running battles with police who responded by firing tear gas into the chanting crowds.
