French police in chemical protective suits evacuated the Canadian embassy in Paris on Monday when a member of staff fell ill after opening the mail. “A suspect letter was received at the Canadian embassy by an employee. After opening it, the victim fell ill, so we launched the NRBC plan,” a police spokesman said, referring to the deployment of police in suits designed to protect them from nuclear, radiological, bacteriological and chemical hazards.
