Police arrested dozens of people Sunday as they used tear gas and water cannons to break up a rally where Zimbabwe’s main opposition leader planned to launch a presidential campaign, a spokesman for the opposition party said. The spokesman, Nelson Chamisa, said the police prevented opposition supporters from attending the rally where Morgan Tsvangirai, leader of the opposition Movement for Democratic Change, was to start the campaign.
