Zimbabwean riot police arrested dozens of people and sealed off a sports ground where the main opposition party were to hold a rally on Sunday, in defiance of a court order to let the rally go ahead, witnesses said. Journalists saw riot police armed with batons, guns and teargas and some in armoured trucks descending on the Zimbabwe Grounds in the volatile Highfield township on Sunday morning, arresting dozens of people who had begun to gather.
