A long-awaited US intelligence report warns of a strong danger the chaotic situation in Iraq could deteriorate further, presenting difficulties for President George W. Bush as he faces a hostile Senate over his plans for a troop surge in the war. The report came as Iraq suffered another day of major violence, with at least 71 people killed including 58 in a double suicide-bombing. Officials said 2000 civilians died last month. In sparsely populated southern Iraq, a grave containing the remains of 200 to 250 people – probably Kurds – was discovered near the border with Saudi Arabia. Full Story
