The British and Irish prime ministers are to meet to discuss power-sharing between rival communities in Northern Ireland after the main Catholic party historically backed the province’s police force. The meeting between Tony Blair of Britain and Bertie Ahern of Ireland at Downing Street Tuesday at 1700 GMT will follow the release of a new report by the Independent Monitoring Commission, which oversees the paramilitary ceasefire in Northern Ireland.
