A THAI southern Muslim insurgent group has denied Thai military intelligence reports that a senior member of the group was directly involved with deadly bombings in the Thai capital on New Year’s Eve. The reports, published in The Weekend Australian, named the head of Jemaah Islamiah in Thailand’s southern Narathiwat province and a commander of a Pattani United Liberation Organisation sabotage unit as being behind the final planning of the bombings that left three people dead and some 40 wounded.
