A powerful separatist rebel group in India’s restive northeastern state of Assam, blamed for killing more than 70 poor migrants this month, has called on Hindi-speakers to leave the state. “Many times we have appealed to the Hindi-speaking people that the conflict is running in Assam with colonial India, so go away from here as soon as possible,” the United Liberation Front of Asom (ULFA) said in a statement dotted with broken English.
