Japan’s Prime Minister Shinzo Abe could make his first visit to the United States in late April or early May for a summit with President George W. Bush, a report said. Abe, who took office in September, hopes to use the planned talks to reaffirm the solid alliance between the two countries ahead of this year’s Group of Eight summit in Germany in June, the Nikkei business daily said.
