Blast kills seven in India’s restive Assam
Suspected separatist rebels killed at least seven people, four of them policemen, with an explosion in India’s troubled northeastern state of Assam on Saturday, officials said. An improvised explosive device blew up a government vehicle carrying policemen and officials in the attack in Karbi Anglong district’s Diphu town — about 270 km (170 miles) south of Guwahati, the state’s main city.
