Australian authorities have confirmed that an Australian citizen had been arrested in Iraq for allegedly engaging in anti-coalition activities. The foreign affairs department said a 39-year-old Australian of Iraqi origin was arrested in Baghdad last October and was being detained by coalition authorities. “He is being held as a security internee under the authority of The United Nations Security Council Resolution (UNSCR) 1637 for engaging in anti-coalition activity,” a foreign affairs spokeswoman told Australian Associated Press.
