Gabon president’s camp officially named winner of general election
Gabon’s Constitutional Court confirmed President Omar Bongo Ondimba’s camp as official winner of the West African nation’s general elections held December 17 and 24. According to the court, the 40-odd and sometimes tiny parties loyal to the president won 98 of the 120 seats up for grabs. Court President Marie-Madeleine Mborantsuo said elections in one constituency would have to be re-run. Full Story
