Spanish Interior Minister Alfredo Pérez Rubalcaba said on Wednesday “there is nothing relevant so far” on talks with the armed Basque separatist group ETA amid press reports that an initial meeting took place last week. Appearing at a hastily called news conference, Rubalcaba declined to confirm or deny newspaper reports that government officials met last Thursday with ETA representatives in an undisclosed European city.
