Tens and thousands of Bangladesh opposition supporters have packed the centre of the capital Dhaka to demand that next month’s elections be delayed because of allegations of vote rigging. Chanting slogans such as “no reform, no election” and beating drums, supporters converged Monday near the country’s presidential palace under the gaze of thousands of riot police armed with shotguns, batons and tear gas.
