THE Iraqi Red Crescent said today it had halted its operations in Baghdad following the mass kidnapping of more than two dozen staff at its biggest office in the capital. “Only in Baghdad have we stopped, to make more pressure to free those who have been kidnapped,” the organisation’s secretary general Mazen Abdallah said by telephone, one day after the abductions.
