Iran has blocked internet access to video-sharing site YouTube.com, the New York Times and the online encyclopaedia Wikipedia, according to media monitoring group Reporters Without Borders. The group said that the move increased Iran’s attempt to control its citizens’ access to the internet after the Islamic country decided at the end of October to ban fast internet connections (above 128 kilobits per second).
