Fiji’s military commander reportedly rejected an offer of further talks with the prime minister to avert a threatened coup, as the troubled South Pacific island nation’s murky political crisis on Sunday appeared no closer to resolution. Commodore Frank Bainimarama said late Saturday he had not decided when the military will take control of the country but it would be within the next week, Radio New Zealand reported.
