THAILAND’S military-installed Government said today that martial law will be lifted across half of the country, including the capital Bangkok, the first easing of restrictions since the September coup. “It will be lifted in 41 provinces and remain in 35 provinces, due to both domestic and foreign security concerns, as well as concerns about drug smuggling and illegal immigration,” Defence Minister Boonrawd Somtas said.
