A Bosnian court on Friday sentenced Dragan Covic, a former member of Bosnia’s state presidency, to five years in prison for abuse of office during his tenure as economy minister in 2000-03. Covic, the leader of the main Bosnian Croat party, the Croatian Democratic Union (HDZ), was also found guilty of issuing orders that cost the budget of Bosnia’s Muslim-Croat federation 1.85 million Bosnian marka ($1.2 million).
