Most reformists who presented candidacies to run in Tehran’s December 15 municipal elections have been approved, an official was quoted by the ISNA news agency as saying Thursday. “In Tehran, reformist figures were approved and almost none of them were disqualified,” elections supervisory body member Parviz Sorouri said. “Also all the incumbent on the Tehran municipal council were approved,” he added, referring to the conservative body that was elected in 2002.
