A top U.N. official will meet Myanmar’s military rulers and detained Nobel laureate and pro-democracy leader Aung San Suu Kyi during a visit to the impoverished nation this week, the U.N. spokesman said Tuesday. Undersecretary-General for Political Affairs Ibrahim Gambari, who was granted a rare opportunity to meet with Suu Kyi during his last visit in May, is expected in Myanmar for a four-day visit starting Thursday, U.N. spokesman Stephane Dujarric said.
