An armed Islamic militant was killed and two human rights monitors abducted by unknown gunmen in seperate incidents in the southern Philippines, the military has said. Tajajul Ampul, a member of the Abu Sayyaf group, was shot dead early Monday when he resisted arrest by soldiers and police who raided his hideout on the tiny southern island of Olutanga, Brigadier-General Raymundo Ferrer said.
