The United Nations called on Nepal’s Maoist rebels on Wednesday to stop “law enforcement” activities, saying they were resulting in serious human rights abuses in the troubled Himalayan country. Office of the High Commissioner for Human Rights (OHCHR), Nepal, said it had confirmed abductions of 39 people by the rebels in three administrative districts in the Kathmandu valley in October alone.
