Brazil’s Leader Seems Headed to 2nd Term

Brazil’s leftist president was heading Sunday night toward an easy victory for a second term, far outpacing his challenger, according to partial official results. With 85 percent of the vote counted, President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva had 60 percent of the vote compared to 40 percent for the center-right Geraldo Alckmin, Sao Paulo state’s former governor.
