Ecuador’s leftist presidential candidate said after a meeting with the U.S. ambassador on Thursday that he will not break off relations with Washington if he wins his country’s Nov. 26 runoff election. “I will not break off relations with the United States, but Ecuador’s international policy will be sovereign,” Rafael Correa told reporters after a closed-door meeting with the ambassador, Linda Jewell.
