The army yesterday denied a Bangkok Post report that the Third Army had sent a battalion of troops into the capital, saying military units across the country were observing a normal level of preparedness under martial law. Prime Minister Gen Surayud Chulanont said the report was ”inaccurate”. Third Army commander Lt-Gen Chiradet Kocharat said his troops had only been alerted and not instructed to move out of base.
