Guatemala prevailed over fierce US critic Venezuela in the latest rounds of voting in the UN General Assembly for a non-permanent seat in the Security Council, but again failed to secure the required two-thirds majority. In the latest of three rounds held so far Wednesday, US-backed Guatemala obtained 105 votes against 77 for Venezuela, well short of the 122-vote two-thirds majority, Assembly President Haya Rashed Al-Khalifa of Bahrain announced.
