Chairman of the Council for National Security (CNS) Sonthi Bunyaratkalin is scheduled to visit Egypt and some middle-eastern countries later this year to explain the government’s efforts in solving the southern strife in a peaceful way, highly-placed sources said yesterday. During the trip, set for Dec 26-31, Gen Sonthi, who is a Muslim, would also attend the Haj, his first ever pilgrimage, in Mecca. Sources said the CNS chairman has sought meetings with heads of government of the Muslim countries during the visit.
