INDIA is rushing sophisticated surveillance and tracking equipment – including an Israeli-made long-range reconnaissance system – to its 4000km frontier with Bangladesh in a bid to shut the door on al-Qa’ida-linked terrorists. Indian Border Security Force troops deployed along the border have been supplied with 900 handheld thermal imagers. The force is also installing Israeli reconnaissance and observation radar system LORROS, which is capable of tracking vehicles or people within a 40km radius. Full Story
