The Red Cross will make confidential recommendations to the U.S. government after meeting at Guantanamo Bay with 14 new detainees, including the alleged mastermind of the Sept. 11 attacks, a spokesman for the humanitarian organization said. The encounters apparently mark the first time the 14 detainees have spoken with anyone other than their captors since they were arrested. They had been held in CIA custody at secret locations, and were transferred weeks ago to the Guantanamo Bay Naval Base in southeastern Cuba. Full Story
