Egyptian authorities banned the head of the opposition Muslim Brotherhood, Mohammed Mehdi Akef, from travelling to Saudi Arabia to perform a pilgrimage, a security source said. The movement’s supreme guide and two members who were due to accompany him, were held back by Cairo Airport authorities, who had received a list of names not allowed to travel, the source said without elaborating.
