U.N. council ponders Afghanistan mission
The Security Council said Monday it was willing to send a diplomatic mission to Afghanistan to show its commitment to the country and review the worsening security situation there. Japan’s Ambassador Kenzo Oshima said he was tentatively planning a visit by diplomats from several of the Security Council’s 15 members sometime in November. Because of logistical reasons, he said it would be “a rather compact mission comprising several member states.” Full Story
