Gunmen ambushed two German journalists traveling in northern Afghanistan on Saturday killing them both, Afghan officials said. Police said the two, a man and woman, were working on a documentary. “Unidentified insurgents sprayed their vehicle with bullets,” said security chief General Azim Hashimi in Baghlan province, about 120 km (80 miles) north of Kabul.
